Taguig, Philippines—GrayMatters Psychological and Consultancy Team conducted two enriching parenting talks for employees of Team Energy Corporation in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on March 13 and April 3, 2019. The sessions aimed to equip parents with the knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of raising children in today’s world.
The first session, titled Parenting 101: Understanding Children’s Issues and Building Better Relationships with Your Children, was held on March 13. Facilitated by psychologists Ms. Joanne Rachelle Valle and Dr. Mary Grace Orquiza, the talk explored common emotional and behavioral challenges children face and offered effective strategies for improving communication and nurturing stronger parent-child relationships. The session emphasized the importance of empathy, understanding, and consistent parenting techniques in fostering a positive and supportive family dynamic.
On April 3, the second session, Parenting 102: Parenting Adolescents in the Digital World, focused on the unique challenges of parenting adolescents in the digital age. Facilitated by Mr. Sixtus Dane Ramos, Dr. Mary Grace Orquiza, and Dr. Niño Mateo, the workshop delved into topics such as managing screen time, setting healthy boundaries, and guiding adolescents through the complexities of digital life. The facilitators provided valuable insights on how to balance technology use with the emotional and developmental needs of teenagers, helping parents navigate this crucial stage of adolescence.
Both sessions featured a combination of lectures, real-life case studies, and interactive discussions, allowing participants to engage with the material and gain practical strategies that can be applied in their everyday parenting.
