Makati City, Philippines—On March 1, 2020, GrayMatters Psychological and Consultancy held a workshop at its Makati Branch located at La Fuerza Plaza I, Chino Roces Avenue. The learning session, led by Mr. Jojo Tandoc, psychologist at GrayMatters, focused on the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Department Order No. 208, Series of 2020 (DOLE 208-20), which provides guidelines for developing mental health policies in the workplace.
The workshop aimed to equip Human Resources practitioners from various organizations with the necessary knowledge to implement mental health programs in their respective workplaces, as required by DOLE 208-20. Mr. Tandoc guided attendees through the essentials of creating and enforcing mental health policies, offering practical insights into building supportive environments that prioritize employees’ mental well-being.
With a growing emphasis on mental health in professional settings, this workshop was designed to help HR professionals understand the importance of integrating mental health strategies into their organizational culture. Participants were provided with actionable steps to ensure compliance with the new guidelines and create workplaces that promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and foster supportive structures for employees.
